Sugarcane tableware is an allrounder

From sugarcanes to disposable tableware
After the juice is squeezed out of the sugarcanes, bagasse has to be further processed. By means of water and natural binders, the finely chopped bagasse is converted into a cellulose pulp. In the mechanical process, the cellulose pulp is poured into moulds and then pressed into bagasse tableware by the action of pressure and heat impact. Bagasse paper is bleached in an environmentally friendly manner and the bagasse tableware can be used without any additional coating because the natural condition protects it from penetrating moisture.
Bagasse tableware saves resources
In contrast to paper products, the extraction of bagasse does not require a cultivation of additional resources. Bagasse is a co-product: It consists of residual fibres that remain during the squeezing of sugarcanes in the sugar production. 100 tons of sugarcanes create about 34 tons of bagasse. A part of bagasse is often used as fuel for the energy production in the sugar production facilities themselves But the remains can also be used for the production of sugarcane tableware and replace conventional single-use tableware.
Sugarcane tableware is a wonderful alternative
The benefits of sugarcane tableware are obvious. By processing a by-product into a commodity, resources are saved and conventional paper tableware, which often coated with plastic, can be replaced. Sugarcane dinnerware is very stable and break-proof. Due to its low weight, it is easy to transport and store. Moreover, the price creates a cheap and environmentally friendly alternative to simple paper plates.
Disposable bagasse tableware is compostable
In contrast to products with a plastic coating, bagasse tableware is a natural product and completely compostable. The US ASTM certifies that bagasse tableware decomposes into its organic substances in an industrial composting facility within 90 days.
